THE UNPARDONABLE SIN

'Assuredly I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men and whatever blasphemies they utter; but he who blasphemes against the HOLY SPIRIT never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation' -( Mark 3:28-29)

The words spoken above are the words of Jesus as recorded in the Bible. Brethren, the very thought that there is actually a sin that is without forgiveness is a very scary one and so; I have often wondered what it means to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit which is the sin Jesus was describing in this part of scripture.

The pharisees envied and disliked Jesus so much that there was a time, as scripture records that they accused Him of
casting out demons by beelzebub (the ruler of the demons). Jesus answered them by stating that a house divided against itself cannot stand and satan cannot cast out satan see( Mark 3:23-25)

Jesus then went on to say; 'Assuredly I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men and whatever blasphemies they utter; But he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation' because they said, 'He has an unclean spirit' (Mark 3: 28-30) see also; (Luke 12:10), and (Mathew 12: 31-32)

Dear Friends, Let us also be careful with the words we utter against our fellow humans most especially our pastors and other ministers of the Gospel of Christ as we may not be so sure about who is really filled with the Holy Spirit. Only God truly knows His own; so it is not in our place to judge.

Some of those pharisees made a terrible mistake because they did not know nor did they believe that Jesus Christ was the long awaited Messiah as He came in a manner that they did not expect; and in their ignorance, carelessly stated (according to scripture) that He had an unclean spirit. Let us also caution our tongues and opinions especially where it concerns the clergy. I have seen some antagonizing posts from people on social media about some ministers and pastors. Dear Friends, this is a very risky venture. It is better to remain silent about any allegation towards any minister of God especially when we do not have the facts of the matter in our hands and its just rumours.

I pray in all sincerity that none falls into this category of sin; for is there any redemption for anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit? Finally as they say, a word is enough for the wise for it has been written; 'It is a fearful thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God' - (Hebrews 10:31)
