THE RETURN OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

'for He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with His truth' - (Psalm 96:13)

A lot of people both Christians and Muslims alike believe that Jesus Christ existed and lived on the earth over 2000 years ago, but not all believe that He will return to the earth again. The scriptures from the old testament to the new are filled with promises of the Lord's return. The purpose of His first coming was because of sin. He came to
offer Himself as a sacrifice once and for all to die for the sins of the world just as it was done in ancient Jewish tradition as a sin offering from God. see (Leviticus 22:18-20).

However, the Lord will return to the earth for salvation and judgment for it has been written; 'And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the Judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him, He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.' -(Hebrews 9: 27-28)

Dear Friends, it is generally agreed that there is a lot of evil at work in the world today, but there are also good people who live according to the ways of God. In summary, Jesus will return to save those who have accepted Him as their Saviour and Lived according to Gods Standards. He will also Judge those who have not lived according to the teachings and ways of God nor believed in His son Jesus.

Jesus Himself spoke of this scenario using parables in some instances; please read (Mathew 22: 1-14) and (Mathew 13: 24-30). He also spoke explicitly about His mission of Salvation and Judgment at His second coming in (Mathew 25: 31-46). Brethren, no one knows the day nor the Hour of His return but He did give some clues and i am of the opinion that His return is very close perhaps even at the door. Most of the events that Jesus said would herald His return to the earth have already occurred and some are still taking place before our very eyes. Some of these clues as given by the Lord could be found in (Mathew 24: 3-14) and in the book of Revelation.

The question we should ask ourselves is, 'would we be numbered among the saved?' If we are among the saved as i pray, we are not to rest on our oars but as the Lord has instructed to 'watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming' - (Mathew 24: 42). To watch means we are to remain steadfast and sanctified unto the Lord till he returns. 'For we must all appear before the Judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body according to what he has done, whether good or bad. -(2 Corinthians 5:11).

Some folks may argue saying, 'when is the Lord coming?...please, we have been hearing from past generations about his return but when will it be?' and their hearts may begin to doubt and scoff. 'But beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness but is Long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance' -(2 Peter 3: 8-9)

'Therefore beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless' -(2 Peter 3:14)

And to those whom are in Christ already, the Lord encourages you to 'therefore be patient brethren until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand' - (James 5: 7-8)
