Today, the sport of football is a multi billion dollar industry, with lots of professional players playing in different leagues across the globe. when you also observe the intense passion of the fans, one can only conclude its an amazing sport like most others, creating employment, entertainment and fun for a global population.
Dear brethren, in my personal view, the road leading to the Kingdom of Heaven may be likened to a big and important football match. In a typical football match, there are two teams that play against each other. Likewise dear friends, in the world today, there are people who
are on Gods team and others who are on the devils team. Everybody in the world today is on either team there is no middle ground for it is written; 'You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; You cannot partake of the Lords table and of the table of demons' - 1 Corinthians (10:21) so the question we need to ask ourselves at this juncture is; whose side are we on? The Kingdom of Heavens team? where God is manager or The Kingdom of Darkness? where satan is head coach
So also, a traditional game of football is played within a limited time frame of 90 minutes; and at the expiration of 90 minutes extra time may be played which is no longer than 5 to 10 minutes. At the expiration of extra time, the football match comes to a conclusive end and there emerges a winner and a looser.
Likewise Brethren, going by current global events and fulfillment of bible prophecy, i am tempted to believe the world may just be on extra time...and it may not be long before this world and its system of things comes to a conclusive end. I do not know for sure, no one knows the day nor the hour; but we are to keep watch and be prayerful.
Repentance and being a genuine born again Christian is a major requirement to becoming a member of Gods team which is of course the winning side. so are you a winner? Are you genuinely born again? Do you do Gods will or follow after your own heart? Have you washed yourself in the blood of the Lamb? Is your name written in the Lambs Book of Life? These are serious questions to consider and think about.
It is my sincere prayer that we may all be found in Gods friendship when these things come to pass.
