OVERCOMING TEMPTATION - "IT IS WRITTEN"

                                                 credit: teknogstics.com

There is a constant war that is being fought in our world daily and that is the battle between good and evil. Often times this battle goes on knowingly or unknowingly to the Christian believer. This war most times involves things and weapons we may not see or realize immediately but will have implications that will later manifest in the physical world. That is why the apostle Paul in his letter to the Ephesians said 'for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the dark age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places' (Ephesians 6:12)

Most times, thisspiritual battle between good and evil is fought in the regions of our minds. Before a person commits sin, he or she will first

THE PRODIGAL SON- I WILL ARISE AND GO TO MY FATHER

' I WILL ARISE AND GO TO MY FATHER' - (LUKE 15:18)

The other day, i was watching my daughter as she slept in bed. She looked really tired for she had played so hard all day. As i looked on i felt an overwhelming sense of love for her and i thanked the Lord in my heart for giving her to me and my wife. Now she is just over 2 years and can be very naughty and unruly at times; but that does not in anyway affect the great love i have for her...I then considered our Father in Heaven the Most High God and His relationship with us and i believe its something similar only what i felt is only a fraction of what God feels about all His children for we were all made in His image and likeness. The Bible says in

THE UNPARDONABLE SIN

'Assuredly I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men and whatever blasphemies they utter; but he who blasphemes against the HOLY SPIRIT never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation' -( Mark 3:28-29)

The words spoken above are the words of Jesus as recorded in the Bible. Brethren, the very thought that there is actually a sin that is without forgiveness is a very scary one and so; I have often wondered what it means to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit which is the sin Jesus was describing in this part of scripture.

The pharisees envied and disliked Jesus so much that there was a time, as scripture records that they accused Him of

THE FOLLY OF HOMOSEXUALISM

'You shall not lie with a male as with a woman, it is an abomination. Nor shall you mate with any animal to defile yourself with it. It is perversion. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it.  It is perversion' (Leviticus 18: 22-23)

There is a story in the Bible about a city called Sodom. The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were notorious for their sexual immorality. And the Lord said, 'Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me' (Genesis 18: 20-21) The Bible records that God now sent two Angels to investigate the accusations against the land of Sodom. It was reported that the men of Sodom now wanted to have sexual relations with the Angels that God sent. see (Gen 19: 4-5) We know the rest of the story...God destroyed the Cities of Sodom and Gomorrah because of their depravity and sexual perversion.

Dear Friends, God designed sexual intercourse to be between

TRUE FREEDOM 2

                                          Credit:brentwoodchurch.ca

In the last discourse, I wrote about my prison experience and the beauty of freedom. I did not truly realize its value until I had mine taken away from me temporarily. However the kind of freedom I spoke of is basically physical. There is another kind of freedom that Jesus spoke of which in my view is spiritual and I believe that this is the true and everlasting freedom.

Jesus came to set the captives free, to heal the sick, to set an example, to give instruction to the hearts of men..but there is something much more than all that. Then
